Mr. Jared A. Poynter, Ed.S.
Dear Hiawatha Community,
We are confident that the 2024-2025 school year will bring many memories, stories of success, growth of our students, and collaboration with families/community. Our Hiawatha family continues to feed and build upon the successes and work of our alumni. We look forward to cultivating positive and continuous improvements, while honoring our traditions and embracing our future. We seek to set high academic, character and behavior standards for our students and faculty. Utilizing the resources we have available, our qualified staff and supportive community can help us provide the best educational opportunities and experiences for the students of our community.
The diverse learning opportunities that our small district is able to offer will provide our students with the skills to be both competitive and successful in the workforce, higher education, their careers and as a citizen. We continue to strive to align our instruction and assessments with state learning standards and develop school improvement goals centered on differentiated instruction and student growth. We are excited about how technology has helped enhance learning. In addition, the safety of our students and staff remains a high priority.
We must continue to be good stewards of spending with regards to our facilities, grounds, transportation, technology and food service, while continuing to provide for the needs of our students and staff. Thank you for your continued support and trust in the use of funds to provide the most practical resources, good educational opportunities, and positive experiences for our students. I have never been prouder to call myself a Hiawatha Hawk. We hope that our staff, students, parents and community share a sense of school, community and town pride. We are excited to refocus on our Strategic Plan. With the input from stakeholders, we believe our mission, vision and focus areas are going to drive us toward continued growth. The 2024-2025 school year will be filled with honoring tradition, celebrating success, supporting our community and making great memories for years to come.
Sincerely,
Jared A. Poynter, Ed.S.
